Dudes and Dudettes

Let me put to you a situation that's common in my circle of interests.

No, let me rephrase that. Let me put to you a situation that's common in YOUR circles of interests; you play something you like for a long time. Say, about 6 to 7 years. You know you're good, so by "self-advertising" your interests to others, they find out about your value and want you to help them achieve their own goals. So in order to give them that sense of satisfaction, you join their little "projects", hoping that one of these projects will give you that shimmer of hope that is a shot of glory.

Well, I'm in most of these projects and I'm beginning to reconsider my options.

Now a lot of people will tell me this. Where got???? You suck in your craft!!!! But those people that tell me that I suck in my craft don't even do what I do so I'm not affected by their bull.

But what ticks me off is when my other members don't co-operate with basic things. I mean, when I go for a performance I usually give my 110% most of the time with no hiccups. But usually that comes with a lot of training so I can't say so much about it. But if you have been practicing for a long time with your group and on that day you make such an obvious hiccup in the show, what can you do?

Just continue, I guess.

But the main thing of this post is this; is it worth it? When I mean "is it worth it", I meant "is it worth it continuing this project?" All the projects that I've been with didn't pique my interests at all. Sure, there have been times that, I admit, might have sparked my curiosity of wondering whether this could be something.

But that was 4 years ago.

Now that I'm more mature and less naive, I'm beginning to think about this carefully and slowly.

I leave you now, Dudes and Dudettes, with a analogy; If you're bored of walking but is forced to continue, what do you do?
