Dudes and Dudettes
Yeah......you read that right. I'm updating this dusty shelf of information I call my blog.
To start, I had a brilliant jam session last Sunday, 8th of February. Totally out-of-this-effing-world sort of jam session.
Why I say that?
Well, in order to understand, let me take you back to a time in my life where I was just starting to look for bands to either have a serious relationship or to just have a casual music making moment. That would be circa 2004, around the months of August & September. I was a freshman, so to speak, in the music world that is Singapore. I've learnt my stuff and I'm "pretty" confident of myself and my techniques.
So with all that, I do the normal thing that most budding instrumentalists start doing; look for bands.
Let's just say that with all my years looking for bands both serious and casual, I've seen mostly everything. From the amateur to the shred-your-face off type of people, I can pretty much say I've seen lots of players of different strengths & weaknesses.
And, for you guys that don't know about the scene, you sometimes get those people with either:
A) Really good skills but have a terrible attitude
B) Sucky wannabes who don't know their basic theory
C) Players with loads of gear on their guitar and effects rack but overuse them till it sounds like a car crash
D) Damn good players who meet up and have such a good jam that you'd soon find yourself trying to improve yourself to either match up to them or to have your own bragging rights
On Sunday, option D happened to me.
Of course, I was so happy that I nearly shat myself and nearly started moshing in the studio.
But that is a different story for a different post, dudes and dudettes.
Well, to summarise it in a huge nutshell, after being with sucky players and bands with no commitment, I think I've finally found the players that I think can further my abitions, yeah!
